for a refreshing and very healthy pick-me-up snack, tangy cucumbers do it for me. and they are so simple its stupid. the magic ingredient is the “fruit seasoning” made by tajin, and its all natural. it is often found as a condiment in many authentic Mexican restaurants and commonly used as a seasoning in micheladas. it’s made up of: chile peppers, salt, and dehydrated lime juice. i love to put it on fruit, especially cantaloup and watermelon – the tangy spice is so amazing with the sweetness of fruit.

so here are the ingredients:

  • cucumbers
  • apple cider vinegar
  • tajin fruit seasoning
  • garlic powder

and it doesnt get much easier than this: chop up 1/2 a cucumber, add 3 – 4 tbsp. of vinegar, sprinkle tajin to taste, dash of garlic powder.

shake in a container until coated, let marinade for at least 2 hours. now you are ready to enjoy this flavorful, and almost calorie free snack.
